Does anyone know who or where to go to get one made from VIN#. If not, then what other solution is there?
All these nice days passing by .....

Several years ago my 3-year-old son was sitting on my bike for a Kodak Moment (on the center stand with daddy hanging on). He grabbed the keys out of the ignition and promptly dropped them down into the fairing. After spending an hour trying to find them I decided I would rather call a locksmith than completely remove the fairing. $75.00 and a couple of hours later I had3 new sets of keys. The following year my original set dropped out the bottom of the bike as I pulled up at work.

If you take a lock off the saddle bag or trunk, any good locksmith worth his salt can cut a key from the code on it. You may have to get the key blank from the Honda shop. My uncle went through this about 3 weeks ago, it took the shop about 15 minuets to cut him 3 keys. 10 bucks a piece.

Good luck on it

The key number wil be stamped on the base of the seat lock and the tank lock.

Thanks to all for the help. I tried taking the radio and tape player to the locksmith and got 2 separate keys that don't work in the ignition. I've broken down and took the ignition switch off (man!, they just don't make them to be worked on by bigger men!).
I've never tried a forum. This is great.
Thanks again to all.

The only thing that you might have boo boo'd on what you did is, those may not have come with that bike. PO could have changed them out. Thats why I suggested the locks on the saddle bag and trunk.........even though there is a chance they could have been changed also. Anyway, good luck, and good luck on getting the ignition back in:cooldevil:

Noticed we haven't razzed you yet about loosing the key? Just wait 'till you get it made!!:cheeky1:
