I have what I call 'Third world internet' service, it spends more time not working than working and I had an argument with Sprint about it. It was off for the entire week and just came back on about 2 hours ago. They claim the hotspot I have is defective and are sending a replacement and I should get it in 10 business days.
They had me run a few tests at my end and I told them the results and they determined I had a bad unit.
To add to the Internet problem the ding-bat tenant behind me floods my apartment. I thought a pipe burst in the wall and I had a problem, but everything was dry in the cabinets. Seems the individual filled the sink with dirty dishes and filled the sink with water and soap and forgot about it. Must have been running for a long time as it hit my place at 6:47PM. I came close to getting electrocuted, as I was sitting where the water was coming towards me and the transformer was on the floor. Off went the computer when my feet got wet and it got moved. All I get from the dingy tenant is an apology and a confession of I did this before to Sam and Connie. The apology was worthless to me.

I believe that my laptop is ruined. The hard drive in the default space went totally haywire and to make things worse I didn't back up my bookmarks and lost a whole bunch, as the roll back only made matters worse. I removed the affected hard drive and put another in and got the same results, the cursor went behind the alphabet typed and some other strange things. I put the Linux Mint 19.1Xfce in the external box and plugged it into the USB and the problems went away. The property manager may get this laptop thrown at them, as these problems happened right after the flood.

you are NOT using Firefox Sync?

shame on you.

immediately go to the options page/sync and sign up, or log into your account.

once you do that, that pc/FF browser will upload your full bookmarks to the FF cloud.

I do that on every PC that I have ever touched.....
every copy of FF, has the same exact set of bookmarks.....
add a bookmark and it updates NOW !!!

and the other PCs will update instantly once they come online.

No, I usually save them to the browser of the daily driver laptop, unfortunately when the hdd went pfft and back up didn't change things to an earlier time, they all vanished. The wonky operation of the computer came after the flood. Now I have to run the hdd externally and have no issues.
May as well set up an outside source to hold them. Thank you.
I did it, I guess the Window7 will be the other.

It's done and they're all in my Windows7 laptop, I'm going to send them to my Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon HDD that lives in the external drive case. A valuable lesson learned for me.
This is the second time I lost bookmarks, but I normally have them saved as an HTML and on either a disk or stick. All the bookmarks are here and visiting me on Windows7. :smile2:
