Lowering the passenger footrests

Hi Folks

Here's hoping that someone is able to help.

My good lady and pillion passenger suffers with a lower back problem and is developing arthritis in her hips. She loves riding on the wing but we cannot go far (less than 30 minutes some days) before we have to stop so that she can stand up to ease the pain.

We have found that an inflatable cushion helps to ease the pain. We are currently working on an idea that perhaps if we were able to lower the passenger footrests about 3 inches this would help even more.

Can anyone tell me if there is an aftermarket product available that can be used to achieve this, the bike is a 1995 GL1500se with adjustable passenger footrest (shame that they only adjust one way).

Many thanks in anticipation

Can you show us a picture of your current footrest might get our thinking caps going ;)
I'm not familiar with the 1500's too much but someone surely will come up with an idea

Hi Folks

Thanks for your thoughts, I have been having my own and propose to have a fabricator friend of mine make up a pair of brackets mounting off the rear crash bars and footboard mounting bolts (see drawing below), I will keep you informed of my progress

Here's a picture of the Motorcycle Larry passenger peg lowering brackets that I got for my wife...... the picture is of the brackets on an FJR, and we have the ST1300 model, which is very similar........

He doesn't manufacture a set for a Goldwing, but maybe you could adapt them, or cobble up something yourself after looking at them....... good luck!
