I have a 1984 GL1200 I that is in good shape except for the chrome luggage latches. They are pitted and rusty (outdoors bike) .

Does anyone have experience in refurb.......rechrome, powder coating or any other way to spiff them up ? They look O.K. @ 70 mph but you need to slow down sooner or later !!!!

You can take the time and effort to re-chrome or you could look on eBay. There are latches listed quite often at reasonable prices.

You are talking about the riveted chrome attached to the uppers?
