Hi, this is not a technical question, but I know you may help me.

I need to replicate the Honda Gl1800 Magenta color, code RP166

Here in Italy the Magenta bike is not imported so the code is not into paints database. May anyone help me giving me the formula for that color?

Possibly with PPG or Lechler products.

PPG can't match it. They have a formulation for it but it's incorrect and a waste of money (I know because I deal with PPG all the time and they have tried to match the RP166 magenta and the R274 Candy Red (and the R114 & R176 reds) without success.

RS Bike paint in the UK can match this paint, but they don't ship overseas due to new laws. You can e-mail them at [email protected]and maybe arrange something. Their RP166 equivalent is very good.

Cycle color in th USA also do a very good match. You can e-mail them at [email protected]

I'm not aware of any companies in Italy doing this paint, but you can ask the above ones and see if they can help. Perhaps another forum member can help a bit more.

I would tend to give the peopleat Bike-paint a shot ( http://www.bike-paint.co.uk).They have Megenta Metalic code RP166M listed as one of their products (http://www.bike-paint.co.uk/honda%202004.htm). I have used them before andfound them quite good.

I don't want to buy the paint overseas , I would like to know the "formula" to replicate it at my paints shop. As I don't know know how much of paint I need.
