I'm currentl working through a major horror story with my Goldwing. 3000 kms away from hom the FI light came on and I lost power to the Throttle. Pulled into the Honda dealer in St. John's NFLD and upon testing they are suggesting a main computer Failure and Throttle Sensor Failure. Anyone had this problem or or any such thing. Any suggestions would be most helpful.

P.S. Dealer says parts are on backorder and it may take up to three weeks to get them. Even claims the Throttle sensor is discontinued.

On a 6 or 7 year old bike???? I am not buying it... could be backordered, but not discontinued unless it has a replacement...

Personally know quite a few 1800wing owners and they have never had any problem like this. Hope you get it figured out. Think I would be checking fuses though.

Welcome from the state of Pennsylvania!

Hate to see you so far from home with problems. You seem to have access to a computer. Do a search for the parts you need. Maybe you can get on your way sooner.

I have never heard of a ECM failure on an 1800, there is a first time for everything of course. I have seen over and over people blaming the computer for problems when it almost never happens, on anything. If there is any chance of a second opinion by another shop with experience I would get it.
