New at this how do I remove my chrome exhaust manifold cover on my 1982 gl1100 so I can replace one that the old owner bent.

If we're talking about the same thing they're held on with four phillips head bolts. Just unclip the plug leads, undo the bolts and it's off.

If I remember correctly they are tack welded in place..the earlier ones on the 1000's were clamped on..

Well I guess they are tack in so it is going to be harder than I wanted Thank you for the reply no the work is ahead of me then to get it re tacked somewhere
