I was watching a fellow Goldwing'r and his wife getting geared up this morning. Just before hopping on he put on a map holder that harnessed around his shoulders with the map on his back facing his wife-passenger. I've looked around at the online stores but haven't found this type map holder. Anyone know who sells it?

Neat idea but I'd rather use a GPS.

if you hold still i'll get the staple gun out and staple the map to your back now we'll have to change the map for each state, so hopefuly you got a high pain threshold

Well now you have me on a search for one as well, Wendy and I have wanted something like that as let her worry about navigation. We're talking about making our own, but in the meantime, I did find this.

I have half of one. :?

It came with one of my kayaks, but doesn't have the straps. There are two D rings on lower corners and spring clips on the top two. It's like a heavy duty 12" by 16" zip lock bag inside of a stitched canvas frame.

I'll give you first chance. $15 delivered.

Did he have a bit in his mouth with her holding the reins?:ROFL:

I think I like the GPS in front of me better.

When traveling through Phoenix, my girl friend grabbed the GPS and held it against my back and operated it as we went down the road. We were able to fully utilize the GPS as it was safer for her to push the buttons and she just operated the various pages on the GPS. Worked great. Gave her something to do and she helped navigate us right to our hotel when we first pulled into town.

...that's how I'm seeing this whole thing.

Of course though, I'm a single Man, ...with a detachable backrest and GPS. :D

Yes, mine too. I had been thinking about some type of Ram mount for her iPad or iPod in the passenger area. Maybe attached to the arm rests (when I get them).
