I attended the Martinsburg Bike Night in Martinsburg, West Virginia yesterday. Eric Estrada (CHIPS TV Show) was there. He led the one hour ride before the street fest started at 6 pm. He also signed autographs and took pictures with folks (FREE).

My nephew an LEO became acquainted with Eric in May when he was the Grand Marshall for the Apple Blossom Parade in nearby Winchester, VA. He is a Blue Knight member and involved with the Bike Night activities. He asked Eric if he would consider coming back for the Bike Night and he agreed to do it (for free). He arranged with the local Harley Davidson shop for them to loan Eric a Police Bike to ride while in the area. They did a little riding together in the area.

It was a pretty neat event.

Having moved from Bluemont, Va. somewhat recently, Martinsburg (via Point-of-Rocks, Md.> Harpers Ferry, WV. > Charlestown, WV) was a favorite riding destination. Bike Night there is a big thing for the locals.

The Shenendoah Apple Blossom Parade is a huge event drawing dedicated souls for generations. Miss Apple Blossom, and the 'Cider, are my favorites. Nothing like fresh Hard 'Cider by the gallon. Not that it's sold that way mind you.

Sure miss the mountainous greenery though. :(

CaptainMidnight,

Did you also ride route 9 west from Berkeley Springs to Paw Paw? That's a nice curvy mountain road.

How about route 45 from Martinsburg through Glengary to Siler, VA?

Or Hampshire Grade road from Shanghia across the Sleepy Creek Mountain to route 13, then north to Berkeley Springs or south to Winchester?

If not, you missed some great riding in the area.

I was spoiled being in Bluemont... 'cause I've got nothing like that here.
Feel like I've left the best woman I've ever been with.

Don't worry about it Steve, I will ride those areas for ya.....! By the way, having grown up in Berkeley Springs, I'll betcha I can get you lost in those areas........!!

Since you been all through those areas, tell me where the low water "toll bridge" is located?? And don't look it up on the internet..........!!

If you do, I'll give you another test that the internet will not help you on. Such as what's beside the Liberty gas station in Paw Paw?? Come-on now, there is only one gas station in Paw Paw.........!!

OK DB... Didn't know I'd be tested, but here goes...

That bridge I suppose would be the Oldtown bridge in Green Spring.

And over in Paw Paw, next to the gas station would be 'bought the only place worth eating at in town.... Grandmas.

Have some friends that do the frisbee golf thing in Paw Paw. They spend weekends up there playing and camping....'know theres a nudist colony (or is resort) over there. I think thats what them fellas really go to when they're playing with their frisbees and camping.

Steve, You got it right...............good job.

Where is Greenwood and Stotlers Cross Roads??

If you know, I will say you know the area pretty well. Otherwise, you score less than 100 %. Ha Ha...!

Been through them towns too.

Being a Radioman, a Ridge within 100 miles ofmy homewasn't safe.

Where there's towers, there's work... or so the saying goes. ;)

Sometimes, I'd find a pretty reason to ride back to some of them.

Now I know for sure you don't know where they are. They are not town's..........!

But you get an "E" for effort.

Been fun, thanks for being a good sport........Dave

Sorry Dave... If it's a game we're playing, then you're on the loosing side fella.

Most of those little backward towns in Nowhere, WVa. don't have the quaint charm that Berkely Springs claims to have. Ican see why you wouldn'twant to know the neighborhood that you grew-up in.

There's some places off 522 between Lake Annaand the Penn-Valley Airport in Pa. where it ends that I haven't been to. Fortunately, I don't believe I've missed much in doing so.

Silver Spring.... whatta lovely area.... ...Steve. :action:

Steve, Being jealous will get you nowhere, I have much better riding than you do............!!
imported post

Yes.... yes you do. :(

At least the opportunity for it anyway.

But it aint jealousy, and it aint bravado... It is what it is. :cooldevil:
