Here is the precise information:
Michelin rear tire 130/70/18 mounted on the front is cold inflated to 42psi.
It is mounted in factory recommended rotation.
No vibration whatsoever before tire change. (old tire had little tread in the middle however)
No bearing problems, low miles 25k.
Vibration is slight tingling felt minimally in grips, a little more in both hand levers, ONLY from 30 to 40 mph range.
It comes on consistently at 30 and lasts through out speed range to 40.
Below 30, perfect.
Above about 41 it smooths out to perfect.
Corners fine and stable pulling hard from 40 to 85 to ?? and very stable cruising.
I ignored this intentionally since mounting the tire to see if it would diminish within the first 1000 miles.
It is still there after 1000 miles.
I know some of you are using balancing weights on your michelins.
Is that what I should now do? Can I do it with the tire on the bike?
If so what procedure is recommended for this tire.
There are no handling problems and it is no big deal on the road but that constant humm in the grips is annoying in town where we stay between 30 and 40 alot. I think I am going to deflate the tire just a bit to observe if there is a change. I am concerned about premature tire wear if I don't fix it.What to do?:? Thanks a bunch all:waving:
