It's kind of like the old commercial about a tootsie pop lollypop question. How many licks does it take to get to the center? Nobody knows cuz they haven't worn one out yet :D

That obviously would depend on a lot of things, but it is a great bike built for many miles. The highest mileage one I've seen yet was a 1500 with500,000 miles on ebay. It was a single owner bike that had been well maintained and the ownerhad run synthetic oil. He claimed it still was not smoking or using oil.

My brother inlaw had one with over 400,000 and still run great and the engine was never tore down, even the carbs have never been pulled for cleaning and it run great the day he traded it in for a new one.

I have 21K on mine, thats about all I can honestly say :D But I have personally known a handful to go well over 250K. I know I have at least 200K more to go before I am going to start worrying about it :D

when i had my last 1500 in 2005,i was chatting with a guy from california . he rode the wing every day , all year round . ( he didnt have a car ) he said his ( 90 mod gl ) had gone 685,000 km . he redid the carbs a few times . but the most important trick was the oil ! if i recall correct , he said he changed every 6000 km .
