hi..

i need a mint headlight for my mates 1982 GL1100 aspencade..the chrome on the back of the bowl is badly flaking meaning the light is now bad at night...



or were would i find a new aftermarket one?

Any GL1100 headlight will work.

I went with an aftermarket 7" round headlight for cars. Works for me.

doesnt the gl1100 aspencade have some sort of threaded bar attached to the back of the headlight shell that the headlight adjuster knob screws onto and this holds the headlight into the fairing ..whereas the naked gl1100 headlight shell screws onto a standard headlight bowl....

reason i ask this is because i have seen a new aftermarket headlight for the gl1100 but seems to be for the naked bike

The bulbs are interchangable. But the fixtures vary between the fiared and non-faired models.

If you take it down to the bare glass globe, then they should all be the same. Sometimes the back is glass, sometimes a coated metal.

Take off the chrome ring, housing, etc, and the glass part of the headlight should be universal. All them globes are just mounted in either a bucket, or a bracket, depending what they fit.

The USA versions are "sealed bulbs" which we can't fix. Right?
