Mirrors on a GL1500 done

It took me about 4 hours to figure how to take apart GL1500 mirrors apart to be able to install Arrows for turn signals on the back side of the glass. Its not as bad as I thought. Here is the picture of them on. Next set I will try something different with turn signals and on the left will be the volt gauge and on the right will be the outside air temp on the inside edges. Any and all feed back is welcome. These are going on Larry's Trike I'm fixing up. By the way total cost is about $10.00 to this job.

From what I see looking at asigetic's picture, you have to remove the "gasket" that surrounds the mirror glass. Is that about right?
All I can tell from the pictures is that you're a magician, mirror is in then POOF no mirror.
You have to pry the mirror out with four Sharpies. Got it...

LOL.....I think in that center round plastic piece it may snap in like some cars do, but I have a 1200 so I have no clue if it would be the same.

You just got to love it when people can see and not see. Get a very sharp razor blade knife and cut around the mirror 3/4 and lift up and pop out the mirror

The center piece is screwed in and you have to remove the mirror before you can even think about removing the inside black piece

Sorry my computer is messed up, I don't see the picture of the razor cutting around the mirror. :sadguy: BTW nice job.

Am I correct to assume the cut is made around the edge of the plastic and not face down from the glass/front?

How long did it take to get your mirror lights.
I am thinking of doing mine, yours look good!

I was looking and lots of bad feedbacks for most the Hong Kong sellers, mostly about people never got their items or long long shipping times.

Also a warning to others, read the E bay listings close. Prices are all over the place, some high with free shipping, some low with high shipping, some are for just 1 arrow, some are for a set of 2, and even one listing said they would send the color of "their choice" of red, blue, white, or yellow!

How is the quality and fitment of the cover? I have been thinking of getting one, but hate to spend $55 for an unknown quality item.
(Chromo) PM sent

(Silicon Sam) cover fits like the original did.

WOAH ! ! !
I like this price a WHOLE LOT BETTER than Muth Mirrors @ $220 to $230
Even beats Warshawski's $130 (fitments are scarce)

;)

I did call Muth and ask how to remove their mirrors in case of housing breakage.
They said it can't be removed without breaking the glass, we use 2 different glues.
( dem-buggers ! )
