I switched to carbon fiber, so much lighter Easier on my bad neck. Price has come down a bit.
I've had cf lids for years and love how light they are. It's just, on balance, that I find flip-up lids more convenient than a full face (especially as I wear glasses).
A cf flip-up... I'd probably need to sit down to read the price tag o_O

Helmets don't need to be strong, in fact, they should have less strength than your neck.
Your face has developed over millennia to act as the impact zone for your brain and neck. If it is stronger, then you get dead/paralyzed with a pretty face.
The very fact that helmets are only guaranteed up to 14mph shows that all the extra expense charged by the brands like Shoei are irrelevant.

I only ride with the chin down when it's raining - that can vary so much in the UK that carrying an open face and a full face that stopping to swap would double the time to get from A to B :LOL:

As for wearing a yellow helmet to aid visibility... you do know cars pull out in front of trucks :ROFLMAO:
