Do they not pass the test or does SNELL refuse to test them? I think it's the latter.When I say strong I am referring to how they hold up in safety tests. Until now I have always had SNELL certified helmets, but AFAIK no modular can pass those tests at the moment. Also new tech like MIPS can work to reduce the neck breaking rotational forces at impact. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for, sometimes not.
I think Arai made a video showing their testing and how it has improved the product over the years. Their helmets from even a few years ago wouldn't pass their current minimum standards.
