You can see the left saddle bag isn't lined up and had trouble getting right bag open. Here is pic before and after plus there was at least an inch between the hitch and tire, not anymore so something gave. I looked at the crash bars where hitch mounted and it didn't look like it moved but something gave. I agree, if I had not put rack back on yesterday before going the car would definitely have crushed saddle bags and much more

Well I did just call Law Tigers and the attorney is supposed to call me right back, they said not to talk to the other guys insurance to let them deal with that. They don't charge for dealing with property damage as motorcycles are their specialty. They said they will get me back on my bike or a replacement as quickly as possible as long as I feel I am up to riding, don't know anything more until they call back so no clue what it will cost at all or anything beyond that. May need to make wife go to hospital in morning if she doesn't start feeling better, she was fine last night she said but now she aches everywhere, said at bedtime neck hurting to lay down and took a pain pill before she could sleep

Interesting....

I was not aware of Law Tigers back in 2008, not sure if they could have done me a better job than my lawyer or not. he was a specialist in working with the Trucking Industry.

I talked to them a few minutes ago, anything they get me for the bike doesn't cost me anything. The only way they get paid is when they get paid is if they get me something like pain and suffering, they get 30% which is high to me but as far as bike they get none of the proceeds from property damage

Ron called me earlier today, and we talked about that rack, and how it was made of laser cut materials, all welded up by the Factory's top welder/designer.

that break in the rear most frame member?

that is a tear in the angle iron, there was no seam there to rip apart.

to me, that rack and a solid trailer hitch mounting saved the bike a lot of damage.

that was not quite angel iron, it was .06 " material, angle iron would be much heavier but it was made to be strong, the way its fixed it was really stiff with no flex, at least it was. Without the rack they would have been hitting the saddlebags and bike would definitely totaled, as it was it still a bit of damage just not near as much visible I think. I just put the rack back on to go pick things up I wanted for the Il M&G, which I obviously didn't get to go to

Not going to a M&G?? Now that there is pain and suffering if I ever saw pain and suffering. Sorry Mystic, just couldn't let that one pass. I see many positive and negative solutions/statements here. It's kind of like a candy counter, pick and chose what you like and leave the rest at the counter. Good luck with health issues, that might arise from this, and getting your bike back on the road. Keep us informed.

Ron called me about Dark Thirty,
his wife admitted she needed to see the ER folks.

turns out she experienced a good bit of whiplash...

so, the lawyer can have some more ammo to work with.

Didn't do it for ammo, she just hurt worse through the day and dr said it will get worse yet before it gets better, gave her muscle relaxers that she said last night she didn't think think was helping yet, hasn't said anything yet this morning yet.

The dr wasn't satisfied with the 1st x-rays and had them taken back to get better pics and confirmed that it was as he thought, and told us to come back if it doesn't get better but to follow up with our dr, already have appointments with family dr before taking her in, I made it for both of us

I am sitting here really bummed, I miss getting to go out riding. Since I bought my bike last summer I rarely miss a good riding day, so disheartened and bored

you also missed your opportunity to be a Celebrity Ron....
the FoxNews reporter just left, and he did an interview with me on the dangers of mown grass in the roadway.

25 minutes, ought to almost make 25 seconds on TV, right?

Not sure doing that with what has happened is a good thing right now anyhow, the other insurers may try twisting it against me although I don't know how they could, no sense taking risks with an attorney involved

The insurance company needs to pin it on the driver behind you, what was he paying attention to prior to hitting you. BS'ing with a phone, looks up, sees a green light, moves forward and then makes contact with the rack. The insurance company needs to get a copy of his cell phone record and see what the dingle-berry was doing seconds before impact.

I figured it would be over the phone type of interview. Did you find others who would talk to them?

Nope,
the reporter came to my house, and filmed the interview.
very nice guy, immaculately dressed... no tie, but expensive trousers and shirt that fits very nice.

I called 3 of you guys, but no takers on being part of " the show " :grin3:

It will definitely be against him, was still a red light, I was waiting for bigger clearing in traffic coming at us because my wife was with me, I take extra time with a passenger, an opening was going through but I was waiting for more, he may have saw it and out of corner of his eye thought I took and was gonna take it also but I didn't move. Wife thinks he was probably messing with phone as well. It was during rush hour traffic and we were only about 3 blocks from our destination.
He had to have hit rack and gone over it as damage was done to taillights on the bags and bags themselves
