Motorcycle junk yards?

I'm impatiently waiting for a throttle sleeve for my '05 wing ( 3 weeks and counting), and was wondering if anyone knows of a junk yard for motorcycles. Especially somewhere within Arizona.

Having a repository for motorcycle parts in which one can go into a junkyard and pull off a part or two seems plausible. After all, many salvageable car parts are picked up for pennies on the dollar that way.

Thanks,

Bills cycle salvage has acres of bikes and parts. They are only about 8 miles from me. I will stop in and see if they have what you are looking for. I think you can probably Google them and find them on the web.

Sorry, no mc junkyards here. Just potholes and high taxes but

Like norton said, there's that place in Rye. I doubt he carries any newer stuff.

My brother lives in Gisela, just off the freeway at Rye. He said the bike yard is too expensive for him. But he's always looking for a bargain..

I rode out to Bill's and he didn't have anything that new. Sorry...I tried!:waving::waving:

Here is a link to the largest junk yard in Kansas. You might check them out on the web.

David,

Right south of you about 20 miles is one of the largest m/c junk yards anywhere. but, I doubt seriously they have anything modern.

On the other hand, check with

Bob's Used Motorcycle Parts
1325 E Elwood St
Phoenix, AZ 85040-1255
(602) 243-4241

I don't think he has a website. But he is good, and he is fair.

I don't know what there website or phone # is but google Action Cycle in Colorado Springs, CO. They have quite a few Goldwings there and maybe they can help you out.

Sorry for the tardy response, kinda busy lately. Thanks for all the replies, it helps a lot. Reference All Bikes in Rye, AZ, I agree that he has a lot of older stuff. Due to professional reasons, I would prefer to work with more reputable businesses.

David,

You just fairly well wrapped up my "surmised opinion" of what goes on behind those fences there :D

Passed it so many times, I couldn't even begin to count the times... Always wondered if there was anything in that pile of junk that never seems to move, that is worth anything?

It always looks the same, just a pile of broken bikes.

There is (1) GoldWing corpse there. A 1000 frame, with the top of the shelter, the coolant reservoir, block, with rusted-fast crank, and maybe a footpeg. Pickins are mighty slim, and usually pretty old. I already got all the M/C wheel weights, Hee Hee

Note: Viragos are very popular bikes to smash, for some reason. :)

I do remember that most of the bikes they had were Yamahas. Which at the time was just fine for me since that's what I rode then.
