i didn't use the poor boy kit. made my own of course. got mine in a little closer and was able to use a 26.7 in belt instead of the 29.. didn't have to mod my lower at all or do anything other than to make the brackets and move the radiator forward a little not as much as they did i used a modern thinner electricfan instead.

man thats great, do you happen to have any info to share i want to build my own, but would be easier if i had some plans or drawings

you know me i don't measure but i can. i basically did what they did except i trimmed and bent the panel in front of the carbs to allow me to move the alterantor in tighter. i lowered the alternator down and extended the upper bracket that holds the top of the alternator tight. also was able to move it in tighter at the bottom and made the bracket to fit. did quit a bit of trimming or grinding on the back of the alternator but nothing that would cause a failure. i could take it all a part and take some pics and measure if you really need it. can you see it tucked in behind the lower.
