Many of you will know about Helge Pedersen. Photojournalist Helge Pedersen is the author of 10 Years on 2 Wheels, which chronicles an amazing journey riding 250,000 miles by motorcycle through 77 countries. http://www.globeriders.com/index.shtml

I found five of his 1.5 hour videos on Amazon prime, to watch, for free with my membership. I wish I could share them with you, but cannot since they are tied to my account.

I would encourage you all to find them if you can and watch. Globeriders. I watched Shanghai to Munich, 65 days.

I so want to do this some day...

You can find some clips on youtube to get a taste...

Check out the Ride Reports on advrider.com. One guy just finished doing the Trans America Trail, a 5,000 mile plus dirt and rock trail across the U.S., on a 1978 Hodaka 100cc 2 stroke "Road Toad" He had surprisingly few problems. One of them was no surprise to me. His technowhizbang aftermarket electronic ignition system failed, and he had to go back to the oem points setup.

I had a 1971 Hodaka 100cc ACE.
Wonderful bike but to short for stability at speed over washboard and the clutch plates were all fabric and would disintegrate without warning.
I imagine both these problems were fixed by 1978.
