Kind of related to Nassir 8 since my alternator died while there. . Ken Heming is way farther north than i thought so a little far to just drop my old alt off. Going to take it apart and see if just brushes and new bearing will fix the old one for a spare.
Made a nice set of jumper cables. 8ft of really flexible 12ga. subwoofer speaker wire and four 3 inch cable clamps and soldered them on. Just laying around here and paid for years ago. Heavier wire and more compact than anything i found local. Easily fits in a quart ziplock. In case i need a jump or someone else in the future.
I want to sincerely thank all those who donated money for my Mom after the loss of my Dad on Sept. 14th. She was really worried where the money for necessities would come from.
Well us foreigners are back home in England, safe and sound... exhausted, but happy, from our trip over the Pond.
We had a great time (as always) and Sean and his family did a great job of hosting the event, that was NASSIR 8. The town of Edgefield welcomed us with open arms and made everyone feel right at home. The town square was an excellent venue for gathering together for the bike night and Sean's place of work were kind to lend us the venue for the meals and shooting for those that did it.
We now have a new set of memories, created by all the great folks who were able to attend, some of whom we had met before, but many who are new "family" now.
I doubt we will make NASSIR 9, but this one was equally good as #1 which we last attended.
Thank you all for the warm welcome to Helen and me. :claps::bowing::waving:
Pete, it was a great joy to meet you and Helen once again.
Can understand not being able to make Sioux Falls 'so soon', but we would all chip in a buffalo chip or two to try and get you there
To all who gave donations for Poppy Pins, thank you very much.
I sold 24 pins at $3.50 each ($84) and received a total of $105
This exhanged to £62.05 sterling which has been paid into the Poppy Appeal.
The Royal British Legion is quite unique amongst charities in that membership fees and corporate sponsorship pay for the overheads all charities have - wages, offices etc. whilst every penny that goes into the Poppy Appeal is spent helping veterans and their dependents who are in need.
So on behalf of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal, thanks to all who gave.
