I just got my first Goldwing a '08 GL1800. Wow what a ride! I obviously didn't get it because of the NAVI system, but since it is basically a Garmin, i thought it would be easy to operate. Not so, especially since I am used to my Garmin portable for the car. I'm not talking about which button to push, etc. Its not being able to look for points of interest near a destination that bugs me. Am i missing something on this?

So the question is, are there any unofficial user manuals or documents floating around that may help? or is it just not what i was expecting and i need to get over it? I have search this and other forums and didn't find a lot on it.

Thanks.

I find this GPS very easy to operate and very much like the Zumo 550 I was using on my BMW prior to getting the Wing. Go through the screen setup menu and turn on the POIs, then go to screen #2 (still in the screen setup menu) and turn on all the types of POIs you want the GPS to show you. The list is extensive, and can be customized, or you can just select "show all POIs" and it will do that. Hope this helps.
