Having a problem need some help !!!

I have a 1996 gold wing SE with 60,000 miles; if i go 70 mph for an hour or so it seems to bog out. When i pull over and let it idol down then its fine for the rest of the day. I checked the vaccum gas valve and its ok but the gas filter onlt fills up quarter of the way, is there a reason for this.

Anyones input or suggestions on how to help or solve the problem will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

There's always gonna be a bit of air trapped in the filter's housing.

You may wanna replace the filter with a known clean OEM unit, but I'd not suspect the air volume as being an issue there.

I'm thinking more that the filter may be restricted which could exasurbate a closing vaccum petcock (during low-vacuum conditions), and also Rudy's thought about the failing/weak fuel pump...

Try bypassing the fuel shut-off valve/petcock.
