Just noticed a spot of oil on the floor under the timing cover below the lower cowl. Removed the cowl and upper cover and in behind the timing cover discovered oil any ideas what could be the issue?

Any suggestions?

Its on my 2003 GL1800

There should be oil in there as that's where your camchains are located. Did you find any rips in the cover seal?

Have you had your valves adjusted recently? The cam chain cover is supposed to be removed during a valve adjustment procedure. The cover gasket could be pinched or damaged.

The airbox drain tube is just over on the left side. It's supposed to have a plug in it so it can be drained during service. You may want to look at that.

Don't you just love it when people don't reply back to what they find and just leave their post unfinished?
OK newbies, post replies to what you find to help others that read this using the forum search tool looking for an answer to their problem.
