Anybody out there with a 1980-82 fork-tube they can measure. Thinking of using a pair I have on my bike to update to 1983 TRAC.
The 1983 tubes are 39X600mm (23 5/8 -")
The 1982 are 39X???? mm.
Please fill in the ???? part of the equation..
Answer may be in mm or inches, I can deal with it.

Thanks

I would have to take my 1980 front end apart to get this info and it seems like alot of work..

I measured 1 at 23 3/4" , don't have a metric tape measure.

comes out to 603.25mm(23.75''x25.4mm) now are you measuring end to end or end to axle center point?
Just the raw pipe length.

Thanks that is so close to the 600mm that I have, they must be the same length..
Wondering about the 25.4mm however the tubes on both are 39mm in diameter by my measure.
Wondering now why they have different part #'s
83 51410-mb9-781
80-82 51410-463-003

Any thoughts on what makes these tubes different.
I am thinking just put the 83 tubes complete with brakes and TRAC into my 1980 triple tree and call it a job well done.

Any difference at all will cause a part # change, even if it still fits. All the associated parts such as the seals and bushings are the same.
