i need more power in my bike, 1800 with sidecar and trailer, wife and kid.... does anyone know of an good way to get more kW out of the ECU, other than exaust??? I don`t want more noise, just HP...

I'm not sure if the ECM is moddable like automotive ones. Is yours a pre-04? I know the older ECM gives more lively pickup and response. That is the ECM that was fitted before the one which solved the overheating.
Quite a few people with later model GL1800s swapped their ECM for older ones, they can be sourced cheap on ebay.

Mine is an -01 model, and shoul not have the lack of the newer model, which I`m aware of. I just want a way to modify my ECU, not the exaust

If I were you, I would dial up the power commander site and see if they have a setup for your wing. On my Harley I put a [email protected] air filter for more air, and mufflers that flowed a little better then stock ones. It ran ok , but the power commander AND a dyno tune really woke it up.I tried the canned maps, but the custom map the tuner made really made the difference. I was going to do cams and head work, which you can probably do but I have all I need with minimum $$$ spent.,,

Does it run like it should? It's hard to believe an 1800 wouldn't have more than enough power no matter how much load you put on it. It's bigger and more powerful than many automobile engines.
