This reminds me of...
I had a 68 Dodge Charger stop by my shop years ago for a tuneup. It needed a mufflerBAD before it could go on the streets. Problem was parts stores were closed & the guy wanted the car that night, and me getting paid.
What to do, what to do... I looked around & in the trash were a couple of STP carb-cleaner cans. Found them to be a snug fit, popped a few holes in'em and screwed em on. Thesound, WOOPAH!,WOOPAH!
The dude actualy like the sound. They were just (legaly) quiet yet had that low-rumblytune.
Six months later I got a chance to work on that car again, the cans were still on and clean/unburnt! I ask about fuel mileage, he said it was better than stock.
I said, WOOPAH!!!
