Hi Everyone, I'm using Viking's magnetic tank bag on my Harley Dyna. I would love to use it on my Goldwing but there is no iron for the magnets to attach to, so is there any way to use that bag on my Goldwing?
Yes, I am aware that there are many bags with straps that can be used on Goldwing but I really don't want multiple tank bags in the garage.

Best option I have seen is to buy and adhere small flat magnets to the top shelter where your bags magnets would normally set. Worst case you'll have a few magnets to look at when riding without the tank bag, unless you paint them to match.

You might be able to glue some metal plates to the underside of the plastic.
How strong are the magnets?

I JB Welded some flat magnets to the inside of the shelter on my 1100 if that helps.

Some neodymium rare earth magnets should work on the inside of the shelter. You will have to make sure you get the polarity correct though. If installed incorrectly, they will repel the magnets on the bag.

I'm using a white 2018 Goldwing and I don't think it is a good idea to glue a black magnetic piece on the upside of the tank as I don't want it to look like a hack, also it will not look good, and if I buy the magnets to add inside of the shelter then what about the stickiness with the bag, will it be same as with the normal metal tank or there will be a compromise.
I'm using that tank bag with street bob and I found its stickiness with the tank quite reliable and never have an issue like slipping at high speed.
And yes updated my profile, thanks for remembering me.

You have to remember that you are now using one magnet holding another not just a magnet against steel.
If you use the neodymium magnets, they are strong. Should be no problem. I just tested two through a piece of 1/8" abs and it held just fine.
Found these, 1.26 inch, 1/8 inch thick.

Oh, that makes sense, so, how do I need to attach them inside the shelter, by glue or what.
