Needle set jet

I have a problem,

While the carbs on my 1100 were apart I dropped the vacuum slide (yea, I know stupid)

I bent the needle. I straightened it out but then I looked and found an old one from my 1000, It looks the same length and diameter. I don't have any precision measuring tools and cant find any info online.

Anyone know if these needles are the same size?

The original Honda parts manuals have different parts numbers for them.

When I was purchasing timing belts from Honda dealer the part numbers were different for 1000 and 1100 (they were even different for GL1000 different ages), despite the belts areequal for all the GL1000 and 1100s. The most important is that the price was very different as well - so I purchased the 1100 ones and paid about $20 less then the 1000 belts would cost!

Thanks for the offer, I ended up bending the original one back into shape and checked it by rolling on a flat surface. I made sure itwas in the center of the jet. I checked to make sure theslide worked freely. When I reassembled and started the bike all was well. :action:

I compared the 1100 to the 1000 using a drill gauge and it looked identical but I could not be sure so I fixed the original. Thanks for all the responses.

Next time I have to rebuild (hopefully never)I will make sure the kits have new ones and replace them all.
