I finally got my '86 1200 :12red:eek:ut for my first real run today. Everything went great except for one slight problem. I am having trouble getting the neutral light to come on, the bike is actually in neutral but the light is not on. The problem is of course that she wont start without the light on. I suspect that the switch is sticking. Does anyone have any ideas on how to rectify this. Also is there any way to by-pass the switch in case i'm unable to get the light on ??

Apart from that i had a great ride today, will go for a longer trip tomorrow.

Hi Poacher

She should start if you pull the clutch lever in, If this dosn't work then you might have a faulty handle bar switch or a faulty diode. This is a built in bypass and sends a feedfrom the starter solonoid to the clutch switch then into the system, allowing the bike to start. If the whole lot has failed, you could probably jury rig a bypassfrom the starter relay to a suitable point in the electrical harness. I'm sure somebody will have a decent diagram to help you out, mine are abit tatty.
