Hey everyone
I found this form last week and really liked what I saw. I am 52 years old and I have bee driving bikes most of my life. I started out on enduro bikes and then moved onto road bikes. My last bike, I have had for about 8 years and it was really hard decision to replace it. It is a 84 Honda V65 Sabre with factory faring. It is for sale now and only has 24000 miles. Three years ago I lost my business to a fire and decided to not rebuild. My new job is 120 miles round trip. I found that the V65 was not a great fit for the commute with out bags and needed a little more protection from the elements so I could ride earlier in the spring and later in the fall. About a month ago I found a 92 Wing Interstate with 29000 miles. I drove it home 240 miles for our first trip together in 35 degrees. I was in love by the time I got home. I have over a 1200 miles on it already and there will be plenty more by the end of summer.
I was able to pass the passion on to my son. He is now 19 and at Ferris State University studying Professional Golf Management. Last year as a senior he had to have a senior project. He decided to restore a 72 Honda CB350 that I had sitting in storage. I bought the bike for $50.00 20 years ago at a garage sale. After we got started on the bike a good friend of mine talked Patrick into building a cafe bike. It was a great project and he has a sweet bike that I hope he holds onto the rest of his life.

Looking forward to meeting you guys and picking your brains. First project is to install a factory CB and Intercoms.

Thanks Bruce

Hello from a fellow mid michigander I live in New Lothrop just about ten miles from Corunna. About 17 years ago me and my wife discovered Goldwings started out with a 82 1100 went too a 96 1500 SE had to give it up for awhile due to my wife having some serious health problems but we both back in good health and back on the road we just traded up from a 1200 to a 97SE this year and loving it.
This a great sight lots of good people and info.
Dave

Thanks everybody.
Turnwaldw: Hey neighbor, Glad to hear that your wife is doing better. My wife found out she had stage 3 breast cancer last June. She is now done with her treatments and is doing well right now. She has never road on the bikes with me. She has always said that one of us has to be responsible for the kids. I am hoping that she will ride the wing with me. We have a couple friends that ride that are asking her to take a trip up north this summer. My daughter graduates from MSU this weekend and our son is in college now, that might make her a little more comfortable.
I won't tell her about the wreck that I seen on my way to work today. Some kid on a sport bike was stopped turning left in a gas station and the car behind him did not see him. I seen the kid flying through the air and and rolled when he hit the ground. He did get up and tried to pick up his bike. I am sure he was in shock. I hope he is ok.
Welcome from North Dakota
Welcome from another neighbor (only 100 miles away). I used to have a stock CB350-4, nice little bike. What your son has done to his it is beautiful. Quite a difference if you switch back and forth between the last pic and the first. I'm sure it turns heads everywhere he rides.

Congrats on the 1500, I'm sure you'll look forward to your commutes much more.

Steve
