Currently riding a VTX1800c, looking to add a 2008-2010 GW. Already have the important OK from my wife so need to understand the levelsof theGW.

Is it similar to the VTX series?

Welcome to the forum!

What do you mean when you say "levels"?

Welcome. There is nothing even remotely similar between the VTX and the Goldwing. The GL1800 has come with several options packages and in several colors over the years, but they all look the same. The Goldwing is a whole different kind of ride than the VTX

Thanks for the info. found level means packages reading further. I have test road a friends 2010, I know we will enjoy the ride. I'll keep lurking in the background gleaming your wisdom until we have made the purchase and ask questions as they come up. I must say the Buyers guide was very helpful as is the forum.

I have seen the "levels" mentioned in adds also. Level 1,2 3. I am assuming that each level comes with certain things, such as air bag, comfort package, premium sound, etc?

Levels is what most dealers call them. Level 1 is the base model, and level 4 is the top one with ABS/airbag/Sat Nav.

Level 1. Base model, no heated seats or grips.

Level 2. Audio/Comfort (heated grips and seat)/Sat-Nav/XM Radio.

Level 3. All the level 2 goodies, plus ABS/Sat Nav.

Level 4. Top of the line model has all the level 3 stuff and includes the Premium Audio, all-new TPMS (from 2009), airbag, XM Radio, Sat-Nav and ABS brakes.

I don't know anything about the levels, but I love my nav model with weather radar and XM radio and all of the other bells and whistles.

the heated seats and grips were also quite lovely in colorado above 12,000 ft in June.

newer bikes

level 1. comfort and audio package. ( heated seats, grips, and premium stereo)

level 2. same as above plus Navigation and XM satilite radio

level 3. same as all above plus ABS

Level 4 same as all above plus airbag

you can save money if you buy a Level 1 and a Garmin Zumo 665 which gives you navi,xm, and navi weather and it will work better than the factory option
