I just bought a used 90 GL1500. I ride dirt bikes in the NJ pinelands so cruising will be new to me. I have been going over the GL1500 repairing the faults and doing maintance. I have come up with a problem that has me puzzled.
Initially the brake foot pedal did not work, a vacuum bleeder solved that problem. I was supprised to find the pedal controlled the left front and rear caliper. So I got out all the air and had pedal and brake.
My problem now is that the brake will not release. The pads are rubbing the disk and heating the caliper and the fluid, which in turn applies pressure to the pads stopping the bike after about a half mile of travel. I removed the front caliper, cleaned and greased the moving parts, checked the caliper to disk clearence .028 in. , but I still have the problem.
Does anyone have any advice?
