hello folks. i`m new to the site and of course have my share of problems with my wing. the latest and most difficult yet is the one i have now. i was riding noticed it wasn`t charging and i could hear the engine revs through my speakers, as soon as i slowed down the dang thing cut of and i lost all power to everything. battery is still good and i can spin motor by touching poles on starter relay but when i turn the key on nothing happens. i have digital display but it doesn`t come on at all. and i have no power going to plugs. i think it might be a ground problem sinse everything stopped working at once but i`m not 100% sure. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks to all.

I recommend you post your question over in the technical section. Most of the gurus won't see it over here, and a lot more people frequent over there. Just a few of us greeters hang out over here on a regular basis.

Hello 83rider,

I see there are no real responses here so I did a little searching...... maybe this will help.

Welcome from North central Texas!
Check the 30 amp dog bone fuse. It is located under a cover on the Starter Solenoid just to the right of the battery. Sometimes this fuse can look good so I suggest you remove it and see if it falls apart.

Also check the clutch switch they have been known to be a problem

if the dogbone fuse checks out, I would indeed check the main frame ground. I had a similar problem with another bike of mine, and that is what it turned out to be, drove me batty figuring it out.

FWIW, I noticed an engine buzz through my speakers on my 83 Interstate. Some wire was loose on the starter solenoid.
