I am going to jump right into this website with both feet. I am rebuilding my rear shocks on 1983 GL1100 Interstate. I have ordered the seals and boots. My question is, do I have to seperate the bottom shaft of the shock from the top half for any reason while I am this far? Thanks. Brad.

I recommend you post your question over in the technical section. Most of the gurus won't see it over here, and a lot more people frequent over there. Just a few of us greeters hang out over here on a regular basis.
