I am looking to buy a Glodwing for the first time! Have owned Harleys but they are to loud and unrelibable! Can someone tell me what would be the most reliable year for the Goldwing history! I am not looking at a new one, way too expensive! I am a mechanic and able top fix just about anything! I would apricate everyones openion! Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! You might ask your question in the tech forum instead of here in the new member introduction fourm. But I'll give you my opinion while I'm here. I purposely looked for a'94 or newerbecause '94 was the first year that cruise control used a crank sensor. There werea few other goodies that were first standard starting in '94. All Goldwings are very reliable compared to just about any other bike. If you are a person of shorter stature, then you might like something in the late 90's or early 2000's as the seat height got a little lower in those years! Good luck!

My understanding is that in the mid to late 90's saw some improvements. But they were all good. So improvements is a relative term. I have a 96. A friend of mine has a 97 and they are roughly the same but he has driving lights instad of turning lights. In 98 they improved the engine guards. Of course, each year tends to cost more than the previous year.
Don't forget to look at the differences between the Interstate, Aspencade and SE models. If the different features are important to you, this will come into play.
