Hello!! I found this forum quite by accident the other day. My wife and I ride a 97 GL1500 we purchased used in 2004 with only 15000 miles on it and have enjoyed riding it. We returned from a trip and the right side luggage compartment would not open, so I took the cover off the release mechanism and got the cover opened, then replaced the cover and shut the trunk lid without checking the release latches for it and locked myself out of the trunk. While trying to figure out how to get in to fix it, I went to google and found this site and was able to find the information I needed. It was good to know that I was not the only one who had ever had this problem. Thanks to the information I was able to get the trunk open, and learned a valuable lesson. :readit:
