Hello all.
So my brother's co-worker has a project bike he never got around to, and wants to unload it. Says the motor might be frozen. So me and my girl hop on our bikes and drive across town.
In the corner of his garage is an 82 Aspencade. He had moved it in and never touched it. The previous owner he got it from, also had let it sit for some time. All told, probably been sitting about 10yrs.
EVERYTHING mechanical needs gone over but the paint looks nice. lol :). If anything I will just part out.

We end up chatting bikes and random stories, and I say I'm interested but what does he want for it? "Nothing, just to be moved. Tired of looking at it". Well ok, but I will have to come back with trailer. He and his wife just want it gone, so he grabs his trailer and hitches it up right there. We get the bike loaded and off we go.

30 min later he backs into my driveway and we offload, only to realize we all missed dinner. So I suggest we go to local diner.
I pick up the bill and gave him $60 for gas and the extremely nice gesture of hauling the bike for me.

You still do meet the nicest people on Honda's
We spent a total of 5 hours with perfect strangers, but in the end made friends and I ended up with a new project.

P.S.
Pulled plugs and soaked cylinders overnight, engine turned with wrench so it probably won't get parted out after all

Sometimes you can unstick the motor and get it running.
There are posts here if you search for them. Nice find.

Sweet looking Wing....A few suggestions before you try crank it.....The timing belts setting there all those years, it might be best to change them out first...Because if one breaks while you are trying to crank it, bank on bend valves, or damaged heads....Timing belts can be bought at your local auto parts store...Ask for Gates T 274, NAPA 250274, or Goodyear 40274, you will need two....

Here is a link to one of the "How to change your timing belts" threads...This one covers not only the 1000 but is the same for the 1100's.....Loads of great pictures with step by step instructions.......

Next is the carbs, they will probably need to be overhauled, this can also be done rather easily and inexpensively, if you can DIY...

Tires, Not going there because to me tires are a personal thing, some only recommend the Dunlop E-3's...

Brakes can be done easy too, if you need pistons let me know I have a place I bought mine way cheaper than Honda....

There are things like these that can be done, and the belts first....The rest can be done as needed...Good luck with it, keep us up dated...
