Good morning folks! My name is Jim, I live in Durand Mi. I have never had the "Goldwing ownership" thought cross my mind. I purchased a 920 virago for a bobber project, and then my wife stepped in. She said, and I quote "you had better get us a Goldwing then, since that bobber is only a one seater". What wifey says.....happpens! So I love this thing. It feels right! Looks great! just has some bugs that I need to figure out, but thats ok, its almost winter time so I have almost enough time to get things rolling. So thats my story, how about you guys, when did the wing bug bite you?

Welcome to the forum. I got my 1st Wing in 86 at the age of thirty-five, I believe the youngest member is in his mid/late twenties. It really doesn't matter, the younger you start the longer you have to enjoy them.

Brows the workshop/tech sections for tips on your 1000 and enjoy... :gunhead:

I am 32. When my wife forced me to buy our fist RV I told her that our undercover names were "Bob and Ethel" (my grandparents names). And that the kids would be refered to as "the grandkids". I then purchased a mesh back Massey Fergusson hat, for the road trips and away we went. I really think that in her mind, we are retired. I love her to death for pushing us into a life of ease and enjoyment before most our age. :?:? Who am I fooling, I cant wait to be retired, why not pretend now!:smiler:

Welcome newbuckwing! :waving:

I was 23 when I bought my 1975 GL1000, in 1977. After quite a few previous bikes, I finally knew what I wanted in a bike and the GL1000 did not disappoint me. I have been hooked/spoiled on wings ever since. ;)

Welcome to the forum, newbuckwing.
Always wanted a Wing, but never seemed to be able to commit. It was the early 90's before I had my first 1100.
