Hello all. I am the lucky owner of a 1985 GW 1200 naked/standard model. Wade, an old boy neighbour who my wife Lorna tends to in the Retirement Home where she works donated the GW to me. He was the orignal owner and racked up 21000 miles on this lovely machine before he got a bit shaky and stopped riding and driving.
He moved into the local Retirement Home at age 81 after Christmas and gave me his GW and asked that I ride it and take good care of it, his son doesn't ride motorcycles.
Wade wouldn't take any money for it but that made me feel guilty. I asked Lorna to discretely find out what would make him happy in the home and she said that his only gripe was the puny TV in his room.
So off I went and spent $1200 on a 42" LCD TV and a DVD player. Old Wade is happy and I still think I got the best part of the deal.
The Retirment Home is only mile from where we live and I pass it daily on the way to and from work, so I drop in and say hi to Wade about once a week and of course I call on the Goldwing.
