Hi all, I a new user looking for help with an 1983 Wing. My son took it out for a weekend trip about two weeks ago. Upon returning, the bike does not want to idle down. The bike was running perfect, no problems or issues to really speak of. If you start upthe bike, it idles good, but if you open or crack the throttle, it will run at 2500 RPM. The throttle calbes are both working, the throttle plates return to close, the spring return is working. As I said before, this bike was running great before the trip, and now it will not idle back down. The vacume chanber slides are clean and free, no scuff marks. The spring return is working. I'm stumped. Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome Aboard!:waving:

Glad you are here. You might try posting your problem in the technical forum. You will probably get an answer quicker there. Again, welcome.

If I understand correctly, it idles but then with a slight increase in throttle it jumps to 2500rpm .. If that is correct, it sounds like a carb sync problem... maybe even a carb sync screw loose or missing.. Find the carb sync screws.. ccheck them out.. then do a carb sync (you'll need gages)

Vac leak somewhere, or the pilot jets are out of whack. Do a synch too.

Sounds like you have already inspected your linkage but I would do so again. Also make sure to check the Ramp for the high idle on the choke linage.
