I've been lurking for a week or two, but posted a few replies so I figured I better introduce myself.

Been riding since I was 7 (I'm 45 now). Up till I got married my Dad and I were in the woods pretty much any "good" weekend (no rain and above 30F or so).

Had quite a few street bikes, currently own a '05 V-star 1100 Midnight custom. My wife loves to ride, and we are planning to start doing at least one long (2k miles) trip a year, so the V-Star is going to become an "around town" bike, and we're 99% sure to upgrade to a Goldwing. Haven't decided on an 1800 or a 1500. Rode an 1800 last week, and it was almost a religious experience. OMG was all I could say over and over, and had a permanent smile. Haven't ridden an 1500 yet, so I can't compare.

My Dad was in the GWRRA for a long time, and I think he even made it to president of his chapter here in Kansas for a bit. I NEVER thought I'd want a wing... Too much plastic, too big, old man's bike, etc etc etc....

But now I can't wait ... LOL
