Rode the wing to Kahneeta inthe Warm Springs Indian reservation today with the 16 y.o. daughter. Wing pulled down 41 mpg with the two of us and pulling the trailer. Weather was perfect (mid to upper 80's)! Guess the recent tune and such was good. I synched the carbs to within 1/4 inch even though they were less than an inch different. And that over the pass between McKenzie Bridge and Bend. Great ride for the two of us.

And the pictures are........ :?

Glad you had a good day out. :waving:
I will post a pic or two from home tomorrow afternoon. Both daughters went for horseback rides, then they' my spousal unit , and her parents spent about 6hours pool side. The high desert is a great place. Since older daughter rode here, the younger gets to do the ride home. She's 10.
Sure sounds like a great time, out in the wild blue yonder!

Blimey!!! You start them riding young out there, I take it they don't have a Wing!!!:ROFL::ROFL:

More seriously though, it must be difficult with two daughters who both want to jump on the back, working out who rides when. I was lucky, that neither of my two sons seemed to show any great interest in going on the back with me and went straight to riding in their own right when they were old enough. They still don't ride out with me, they must think I am too old and slow for them!!! :D:doh:
Did you take hwy 242 into Sisters? That's a great ride through the lava beds. Also have you rode the Aufderheide Scenic Byway, that cuts off right at McKenzie Bridge and south to Westfir, it also an awesome ride.

down to 41 mpg?

wow, my 1500s (two of them) never got better than about 36, and averaged about 33. But that is in wide open Arizona country running at 75+ most of the time with a Tulsa Super tall.

242 is still closed due to snow. It pulled 41 mpg down- I usually avaerage 38-40 when riding alone. English grammar is not my strong suit.
Pics!! Remember- my only digital is an infrared camera.
1- 1st is 10 Y.O. daughter on Hwy 126 with Mt. Washington in background on way home today.
2- Then the view from our hotel balcony
3- The 2 girls on a guided horseback ride on the Indian reservation. This was the first time the 10 Y.O. was on a horse alone. 1/2 hour ride.
4- My older daughter (16 Y.O). We hiked up a small trail above the Kahneeta resort where we stayed. She rode with me to here.
I have a few others, but you get the idea

I have done the Aufderhyde many times in car and on bike.
Both it and 242 are absolutely beautiful!
It all sounds like a great trip. :claps:

I am amazed to hear that roads are still closed due to snow in June!!!
Looks like a great trip and the photos are excellent in an arty way.
I hope that all the snow is off the roads by the time we get there in the middle of August.:praying:
Seems like they usually have it open some time in June. We got some late snow this year (we had it down to around 1500 feet last month for a few days) so I am sure that is the issue. 242 is open for peds/bicycles without motors.
