Just got done standing on my back porch watching the Space X Falcon launch!!! I even got to see the vehicle stage separation, 2nd stage start, AND the burnback of the 1st stage to return to KSC!!! And they NAILED the landing!!!!! Not too bad for being about 120 miles away!!!!:cool:

Awesome....
I have watched the videos, but there is nothing like standing on the ground and watching it happen in real time.

Found a link to watch it:
You will need to click in the middle somewhere to see the blast off.
Slide to 19 minutes to get rid of the lady announcer and see it take off right away..

Im 35 miles away as the bird flies. I've seen countless shuttle and rockets takeoffs and landings.
I try not to miss any and I ride within 10-12 miles of the launch site most of the time.
Last night I simply didn't know it was going up. We were in bed just about to fall asleep when we heard the rumble. Immediately knew it was a launch. I got in the lanai and managed to see the burnback of the first stage, Then the sonic boom gently rattled the house
