No spark

I have a 1986 gl 1200A. I have no spark on the blue-yellow and yellow-blue wires on connectors going to the ignition coil. I have voltage on the blk-white wire. I have continuity up to the wires connecting to ignition coils. My pulse generator tested 304 and 305 ohms. I have brand new ignition coil, coil wires, ignition caps and spark plugs. I even bought a brand new Ignition Control Unit (ICU). Still no spark. What am I missing here? Please help!

I by passed the blk/w from connector 78 to 121. The battery voltage was 12.58 v. I put one end of the test light on the negative of the battery and the other end to the blu/y wire. When I cranked the engine, the test light did not pulse. I did the same to the yel/blu wire. No pulse either. The cranking voltage when measured was 8.57 volts.
Depending on the tool used to measure, that measurement might be an indication a pulse is occurring. Most meters will average the voltage seen, presuming the 8.57 volts is measured at the wires stated. Cranking voltage generally indicates or implies the battery voltage measurement. If that is the case, that would indicate the battery cannot handle a 'load'.

Pulse measurement is best done with a 'logic probe' or an O-scope.

I don't know if that is a good one or not....
If you were trying to get a test light to pulse on the pulse coils it wont work as they only give millivolts, a bigital meter might show a varying voltage
You're right. I am using test light to look for the pulse. I'll try the digital meter tomorrow and report to this forum what I've found out.

So I used the digital meter to look for the electrical pulse on the blu/yellow and yel/blu wires. There was no pulse. Then I remembered that a man on youtube used the test light on his goldwing to test the blu/yel and the yel/blu wires for pulse when the starter is pressed. It did light up on and off. So test light can be used to test for electrical pulse on said wires.
Is there a website where I can buy the pulse generatorfor 1986 gl 1200A. I'm running out of option but to try to replace the PG to see if there will be pulse. I don't trust the used PG on ebay.
Look up the part number on one of the many sites then put that number into google, IF its/they available it wont be cheap

Where did you find a pulse generator for your bike? I found one place selling new ones for my 1985 and they were asking nearly $300. I bought a used one off eBay from a guy selling used goldwing parts. That seems to have fixed my issue. Just wondering if you were able to find a new one?
I put a new stator in my 1985 1200 late last fall. Got it running and took it for a short ride (about 10 mins. or less). Parked it. Started it another day, it ran sitting still for a minute or two and stopped. I checked and had no spark. I couldn't figure it out, so I left it for this spring to work on.

Took the bike out of storage checked for spark first thing. It had spark. Started the bike up after a lot of cranking (I took care to not burn the starter) and it ran ... for about 2 minutes. Now, I have no spark. The cylinder heads were warm but I could leave my hand on them, so it didn't get very warm.

Any thoughts?
Just an update: It seems this was my pulse generator. Have yet to take it for a long ride, but it now runs without shutting off.
