Midwing I would try the Alexander Arms Hotel which is on the Main Street and a very short250 yd walk from the site. The details are listed on our website under Hotels. They are doing a special deal of £20 a night including full breakfast. You can party at the event, leave your bike secure on site and walk or stagger the short distance to the hotel. Several other wingers are staying there. Mention the Goldwing Club event when booking.

Hey Littlejohn :waving:Midwing would be arrested and charged for walking or staggering without due care and attention. :crying:He must be carried from the site by other members. :whip:

Just a word of warning for those members travelling to the N Ireland event. The local police areconducting 'Operation Roadsafe'with special attention to excess speed. The are using hand-held laser equip which can detect you at a long range well before you have time to react and slow down. Speed limit for the North is as follows:-

National Limit - 60mph. Motorway/ Dual carriageway - 70mph. Lower limits as posted on speed limit signs.

Below is what you can expect on the roads in the North and they don't always make themselves so visible when operating speed traps??

YAWN..........

If the bobbies spent a bit more time dealing with the problems normal people considered important like burglary , motor theft, binge drinking yobs andDrug Dealers to name but a few they would be a whole lot more popular - any bloody monkey can point a camera. Vascar is a fair cop though...:D

The man [government/police/councils]willNEVER stigmatise speeding in the same way thatsmoking in public or drink driving has been achieved , not as long as there are woman late for appointments or young men thrill seeking, or born again bikers, or sales reps , or white van men , or any other group of society you care to mention. How many times has anyone been cut up by a car with a bumpersticker saying "back off baby on board???"

I am sure bobbies hear this Ad Nauseium I don't care! they deserve it , thats cos it matters to people..... and as for the UK Regional Police forces who are actively going after Bikers with a Zero tolerance attitude.....brings to mind a quote from Hunter S Thompson's book about Hells Angels, "if we turn up in 3s or 4s they bust our ass, if there's 3 or 400 of us they give us a goddamn escort"

I dont condone speeding or law breaking butthe camera's dont work , they don't make the roads safer the statistics prove it, it is a money making exercise.

Rant Mode off......:cooldevil:

Hey Black Bart :gunhead: All of the offences you mentioned are investigated thoroughly and in great detail by officers in different sections. :clapper: The officers who deal with road safety are in the traffic corp :(and in my opinion should be congratulated for doing a thankless job. :clapper:Especially when dealing with someonewith your outlook on road safety. :whip:

I have just thought of a great event for the Birthday Bash. I am getting onto our local boxing club tomorrow to hire their ring and you two can sort this out using Queensbury Rules while the rest of us get pissed and entertained. Hey this might just work out OK.
