Meh, I would trade it off. I am not a big rune fan. Jay

Sometimes there's a reason that something is rare.

Doesn't always mean it's highly desired.

What was wrong was the pricetag. In 2004, $30,000 for one of these with styling that is "an acquired taste".

Call me a freak, but I really like the Rune. Not sure about it inred, but in black that's a beautiful bike. I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder :?.

I would gladly accept it as a gift, but I wouldn't buy it for myself.

Ouch, I see what happened to them. 30,000 in 04 is crazy.

Well, its crazy now.

I said I liked it, but it certainly does not command that kind of money.

they were $25000 around here. If you like custom looking chopper style bikes ( I DO) then you will like this bike. $ 20,000 is close to where it should be back in 2004.

The question is how would you like this under your tree.

I would as long as there really is a Santa Claus

I have said many times that the Valkyries are "different critters." There are more differences than similarities when considered with their Goldwing counterparts.

What happened to the Valkyrie is... Joe Boyd, the driving force behind the Valkyrie died.

After the wind went out of the program, the Valkyries just sort sailed off to Valhalla.

I truely think the Lucas electric thing is not quite true. Yes, they had problems. Mainly getting a good ground as the grade of copper used was actually too pure causing the copper to oxidate. I just use an elect. jelly whenever i do things with contacts.

I have never been totally stopped where a tow truck was needed but I can fix most things... but I can't fix stupid.

They are fun to drive. Feels something like a bike but with 2 extra wheels.

Now we're talking about British cars... I can relate here as well.

1st. 1960 Austin Bugeye Sprite
2nd. 1973 Triumph Spitfire 1500
4nd. 1974 Triumph TR6

Both of the Triumphs were converted to the the Weber side drafts and had headers and Monza exhausts (amoung other things) Cool little cars...

I'd like to have a Rune engine stuffed in a Valk though. Interesting item in the linked article is that the Rune beat the Goldwing by only 0.1 second and was only 10lbs lighter than the Goldwing.

Ran into a guy on one of those out in the middle of nowhere a few months back. He said it to the dealers 3-4 years to get them all sold 'cause of the cost.
