I like your idea Jack. The problem with IT security is that whatyou think issecure today, was hacked intoyesterday!

The ever evolving IT security measures I have to go through at work just to use a computer are more frustrating than effective. By the time we get used to the new system, they areupdating them with a newer system, over and over and over.....

Maybe it would have to be a listing of where we are and what we can offer, then is someone needs/wants something in a specific area they can PM the person or they can send a generic post for anybody to respond. (Kind of what happens now...) I guess the main difference is posting what is available to others in a directory. (I'm picturing some kind of check boxes on our profiles i.e., tools or trailer, then the capability to search or sort by these.)

It doesn't really answer the part of the emergency, but then again, you can almost always find an Internet hook-up (hotels, libraries, etc.) to make an inquiry.

Just some fodder for thought.

Actuallyit's already available, if all members put their full locations on their profiles, it would be relatively easy to sort by 'Location' on the members list to see who's near your route and PM them for a phone number if they are willing to give it. A person could post their phone number in one of the other lines on their profile it they wanted to be available, you could probably even note other types of help you could offer. Take a look at my member profile and see what you think.

Hey guys, what about, if nothing else, all us good samaritains might have somewhere on the profile section to write the word "Xenia" as suggested. Someone then travelling , could make a note of "Xenias" en- route who would help out in a crisis. I'm not sure, just brainstorming:baffled:
