Just before I started to take all my plastic off to resolve the on/off acceleration probs, I noticed that the fuel filler cap was off..( about 3/4 full of fuel ). Would this be the cause of the occasional stuttering when opening the throttle.....Air filter is clean and housed correctly

No i dont think so

One area that might cause your prob is accellerator pump in the carb.

The rubber diaphragm can crack and split

No Probs,

I will check it out asap but I reckon I may try a fuel additive first to see if that will flush any gunk out

Everyone here seems to use that Seafoam to clean out carbs.

Try it if you can get there.

Lucas Fuel treatment is a good choice also for running through your system, I use it on all my rigs...

Yep, it seems the obvious choice to use a fuel additive first of all. I think I can get Seafoam here in the UK,but failing that, I have a choice choice of products that shoulddo the trick.

Cheers to all
