I would say that at 20k miles, your oil was done. If just by changing it you noticed a dramatic difference,you've proved it to yourself.I also think 20/50 is too heavy for a wing. I run 20/50 in my Harley, but its air cooled and tends to run hot in the summer.That oil also will shear grade and may get to be 15/40wt when changed. I go 3 to 4k on my old wing and 5k on the Harley. Oil's additive packages don't last forever despite what the mfgr's say.,,
