Is citgo synthetic motor oil 5/30ok for a 1996 1500 Gold Wing?

I would not use it. stick with oem oil or delo or the rotella, you will not hav problems with these.

I would steer away from synthetics, lots of opinions on this one.I have spent more on fancy oil, and ended up with a grouchy transmission, clutch issues and noise. I went witn Delo 400 15-40 and the powertrain is like silk,(minus the famous gear "clunk"!) The real savy gearhead types know what synthetics are ok, but for my money, I'll keep using the Delo. You can get it at Wal-Mart.OO Rah! jimsjinx

5W30 is in most oils energy conserving and is not good for the clutch due to certain additives. Look in the circle on the back of the container and see if it says energy conserving.

That's a picture I ran across somewhere and I thought it was cute. It had the word "sorry" written under it and that's exactly what it seems to be saying.
